Self-Directed Learning

As much as the HERstory platform is for students, it's just as much for educators. Exploring the HERstory database will be able to provide a vast array of new information about historical female figures, which can spark discussion and teachings in other subjects.

Readings

Students will have access to the vast HERstory database with readings based off of written-out female historical figures. Readings include female figures that are currently in the Australian history curriculum, but also expand into diverse topics not commonly taught in standard schooling practices. Topics around the arts, culture, music and literature are a few examples. Each week on the platform a Woman of the Week reading is published, this section details current female figures in society.

Students will be expected to complete certain readings in order to partake in the assessments and quizzes.
